What is Functional Training?

  At its core, Functional Training mimics and builds strength in the movements we use in our everyday life (i.e. lifting, pushing, pulling). It can also be adapted to be sport-specific, it can (under guidance) be used to rehabilitate injury, it can be used to drop body fat, or utilised to build muscle. Essentially, it can be adapted to you and your goals, whatever they may be! And on top of it all – it’s not boring! You won’t ever find yourself on a treadmill for hours on end, or sitting pedaling away staring mindlessly at a TV! You’ll be flipping our Tufnut, throwing and catching on our rebound wall, or pushing a sled down our sprint track! There are countless ways to get the most out of your body; our gym is here to help you achieve that, and have fun in the process.

What is Hyrox?

  "HYROX combines both running & functional workout stations, where participants run 1km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times. Each race is hosted indoors in expansive exhibition halls, creating an immersive and electrifying race, where your spectators can support you from the very beginning to the very end.

Accommodating both professional athletes, and everyday fitness enthusiasts looking to take their training to the next level, HYROX is the sport for everybody."

I’ve never been in a gym before. Is this for me?

Absolutely! Guided workouts, basic training plans or just a nudge in the right direction – whatever you think you need, just pop in and ask us. We will introduce you to the equipment, help you to build a workout programme based on what you want to achieve, and get you on the right track! We don’t want anyone to ever feel lost or unsure walking in to our gym; we have an open door policy, anything you want to know feel free to ask.
