Muay Thai is the National Sport and Martial Art of Thailand. It is a popular Martial Art and a great workout utilising punches, kicks, knees and elbows, as well as stand-up grappling (“clinch”). It’s fast pace means you will be pushed to your limits, making use of gloves, pads, punchbags and even each other! Feel free to come along for a trial class - no experience necessary, all ages and abilities are welcome! Simply drop us a message for a chat!
Our Youths Muay Thai sessions are designed for the 11-15yrs age group. We treat the sessions as a ‘young adults’ group rather than a ‘big kids’ group, giving the Youths more responsibility and preparing them for the eventual move up to the Adults sessions. They will learn all the same techniques as the Adults as well as important pad-holding skills, which will quickly improve their hand-eye coordination, strength and timing.
Our Juniors sessions for the 5-10yrs age group are fun and fast, teaching them fundamental Thai Boxing & Martial Arts skills as well as ensuring they have a great time! Sessions are a combination of fitness, games and technique, all aimed to improve both the physical and the mental development of our Juniors. We aim to not only make them fitter, faster and stronger, but strive to develop confidence and leadership skills in all our Juniors. Muay Thai is a great way to focus young minds, burn some energy, and of course get them away from their screens for a little while!
Mini classes for Mini Thai Boxers! For the under 5’s, we run half-length sessions twice a week, aimed at getting them confident wearing boxing gloves, learning their lefts and rights (‘jab hand’ and ‘cross hand’), and getting them used to taking basic instructions. They will learn some basic striking, but don’t worry – they will also be taught never to practice outside of the gym!
If you enjoy Muay Thai, why not try your hand at Sanda - or Chinese Boxing - as well!
